More than half the
backend was missing.
A US banking software project with security failures, server crashes and unfinished implementation. Recovered and launched in six weeks.
A foundation with major gaps beneath it.
A US client’s banking software project had gone wrong after AI-generated scaffolding left substantial engineering work unresolved. More than half of the backend code was missing. The server was crashing, and serious security failures had compromised data.
The project needed recovery across functionality, reliability and security. These were separate problems within the same build, and all stood between the existing software and a launchable product.
The missing code was only part of the problem.
Completing unfinished backend work would still leave the crashes and security failures to address. Resolving the security problems would still leave a substantial implementation gap. The rescue therefore had to cover more than a set of isolated defects.
That combination is what made this an engineering recovery. The existing scaffolding needed to become a working application, with the reported failures addressed as part of that work.
Completing the backend. Resolving the failures.
Conso4s took on the recovery, completed the missing backend implementation and fixed the issues affecting security and server stability. The work brought the incomplete and unstable build through to launch.
The six weeks describe the recovery engagement. They are not the original product’s total development time or a standard promise for another banking project.
What this case illustrates
AI-generated scaffolding can leave substantial work beneath the apparent structure of an application. When functionality, security and reliability all need attention, the scope of recovery has to account for each of them.
For another project, the starting point is to establish those gaps and the outcome required. The amount of existing code alone does not tell you whether the product is ready.
